Tetrarchs
Similar to the Quadriga,
the Tetrarchs is a sculpture that was
taken from Constantinople when the Venetians sacked it in 1204. It is placed just outside the Basilica di San Marco, near the entrance. The sculpture depicts four tetrarchs, which
were rulers in the late third century.
The sculpture is used to symbolize unity and stability.
